After losing two home games in a row around Christmas time to sides above them, Standard Liege have really kicked on and haven’t conceded a single goal. This evening they face one of the worst sides in the league who have only won once in their last 9 away games and on average don’t score more than a goal a game. Waasland-Beveren are in danger of being relegated if they don’t put some distance between themselves and the other 3 teams below them. A win for any of the sides below them would pull them into the bottom 2. Standard Liege are undefeated in their last 5 matches home and away and have only conceded 1 in their last 2 meetings. This should be a routine win that will fire them into 3rd.
Things did not start well for Dortmund in their last match that was at home. They went behind in the 1st minute to Mainz but fought back to win the match 4-2. We are starting to see the Dortmund that have crushed teams over the past couple of years. They now have back to back wins where they have scored 7 goals and we expect them to push for an early lead. Opponents Stuttgart have failed to score in their last 6 league games and have lost 5 of these. Dortmund have scored at least 2 goals in their last 4 meeting with Stuttgart and we can see that continuing with a lot of regained confidence. Dortmund are also undefeated in their last 9 matches over all against Stuttgart.
Rangers have not been at their best in recent weeks as problems off the field continue to disrupt the club. Despite winning their last away game 1-0 against 2nd from bottom Alloa Athletic, Rangers have been on the end of a couple of heavy defeats where they didn't score a single goal. Opponents Raith Rovers knocked Rangers out of the cup a few weeks ago and the mid table side are on a 7 game unbeaten streak. We fully expect Raith Rovers to give Rangers a tough game and will likely avoid defeat in this Scottish cash.
This game kicks off at 5.00pm so make sure you have placed your bet earlier in the day to avoid missing out. Here are 2 sides in inconsistent form at present but both are getting on the score sheet often and conceding so we can’t see a problem getting goals today. We couldn’t pick a winner as this in anyone’s game tonight. Their last 3 recent meetings all finished with 3 goals or more with Podbeskidzie winning one game 3-1 and Cracovia KraKow winning the other 3-1. We see this as a low risk fixture that should comfortably land.
2nd place Brest face bottom of the basement Arles in a match we see as a very safe pick. Brest’s away form has been debatable of late but they have travelled to sides next to them in the league who have squads just as a good as theirs. If we go back to results earlier in the season against the lesser sides they have avoided defeat against 90% of them. Opponents Arles have won 1 of the last 6 meetings which was 2 years ago. They have lost the last 2 matches to nil. Arles have conceded 10 in their last 5 on home soil scoring 2 in the process. Brest should really be pushing for the win today but worst case scenario, they will draw this match.
Nice have been drawing at half time in their last 4 matches and the same statistic applies to Monaco who have been drawing their last 4 away matches at half time. These 2 sides are incredibly inactive in the 1st halves of matches. We have watched Monaco quite a few times this season and we really are not impressed with them. They have won a lot of games 1-0 and that could be the case tonight but we certainly don’t expect an early goal from them. Nice won the last meeting 1-0 away at Monaco in September so will be coming into this confident that they can repeat their earlier season success.
