Argentina Iran
Odds: 2/1 (3.00) – Use BetFair money back if Aguero scores first
Bet Fair are offering your money back if Aguero scores first, so we can get on the other most likely goal scorer Messi. The little man has the talent to unlock an Iranian defence which will be defending for their lives – this will be possibly the biggest game they will ever feature in. Messi came to life in the second half of the opener for Argentina and he has a great chance of grabbing the first one against Iran.
Odds: 2.87 (15/8)
Iran kept out Nigeria, but that Nigeria attack looked out of ideas and in no shape or form similar to that of Argentina. An important thing to note from that game was that Nigeria despite their poor attacking prowess in that game had 7 corners. We can expect a lot more going forward from Argentina today and the race to 9 corners bet looks great value when you look at the last game and add in the desperation at which Iran will be defending.
Germany Ghana
Odds: 2.75 (7/4)
Germany disposed of Portugal with ease, they were 2 up and looking comfortable before Pepe got sent off. Ghana were served a late hammer blow when the USA scored a late winner. Ghana were very unlucky in that game, they had 24 shots (21 on target) in that game showing they really do have a threat of their own going forward, but their defence is suspect. Germany should over power Ghana, but we may well see the Africans sneak a goal for themselves and they will know they are out of the World Cup for certain if they aren’t able to score.
Odds: 2.25 (9/4)
If you believe Ghana might sneak a goal then it’s likely to be a high scoring game, we should be able to see a few goals in this one. We will need four to land this bet , but it’s worth it for the extra value in the odds – use over 2.5 if you wish to play it safe. With Germany’s attacking threat and Ghana’s all or nothing attitude this could be a great game. Also look for odds on Muller & Gotze grabbing a goal.
Nigeria Bosnia & Herzegovina
Odds:1.90 (10/11)
We have faith in Bosnia who put on a strong display against Argentina. They had two of the top scorers in qualification in Dzeko and Ibisevic and we think they can find a way beyond this Nigeria defence which Iran actually managed 9 chances against despite it being a dull game. Bosnia also have one of the best goal keepers in the tournament with Begovic and an improved defence with new players joining them after qualification into the World Cup.
Odds: 2.05 (21/20)
Nice value on the Manchester City hit man finding the back of the net today. He will be a real threat against this Nigeria back line. If Nigeria turn up and perform at the same level todays as they did against Iran then they will be in for a tough afternoon and Dzeko will be leading the line against them.
